My Weekend

Well my weekend started off really craptastic. There was a huge mix up and screw up by a unnamed shipping company (unghFedEx! cough! cough!). Anyways after many stress full hours of my yelling at this unamed company, it kind of worked out so I felt a little bit better. I then went up for the encouter weekend!!! It was great. It was my first time not cooking and just sponsoring so it was good. Anyways, I had a fun time and ended up really connecting with my guys even though they didn't let on till like the very last session...

Anyways,

I did the Holy Spirit talk it I thought it was awesome. It was cool cause the Holy Spirit was really touching people before my talk even started. This was tough cause like Andrew, Ben, Pablo (Duncan's half brother) were laughing and praying for me the whole time and it was quite difficult to stand up. The talk went well and after it was over, we did some realeasing of tongues and healings. One of my guys got his knee healed!!!!!

All in all a great time.... To cap it off I broke my acoustic guitar so now I have an excuss to buy a new and improved one.... YAAAAAA

Napolean Dynamite

I just saw it yesterday and it was hilarious... "Your Mom goes to college." That was the best line in the whole movie.

If you haven't yet seen it, then do it... I know I'm like the last one to see it but if I'm not then see it. I think it deserves an oscar for best picture!!!

I broke the cardinal rule....

Well not "the" cardinal rule, but one of mine. Today I bought a book. I know what your all saying, "I didn't think Jon likes to read books or has time to read books". Well my friends and faithfull subscribers to this blog, you are indeed correct. I don't have much spare time, and the spare time that I do have, I normally wouldn't spend reading. Well God kicked my butt. I was in the bookstore at church and I saw the book"Facing the Wall" by Don Potter and I was surprisingly interested. I opened the book and saw some headings of the chapters. They immediatly spoke to me and I had to buy it. So I've started to read it and am actually interetsed in it.

It's kind of funny, and yet serious. Maybe God wants me to start doing more in worship...

I'm officially a conference speaker!!!

So this afternoon I got to tag team preach/share a testimony with Duncan and some other members of "THE 12". It was kind of cool and really fun. I shared about how cool it is to be a leader in training, and such. I had a great time and can't wait till I get paid for it!!!!

Conference Time Again

So it's conference time again and I am again stuck working in the bookstore. Sarah Nickling went to like Aruba, or the Bahamas or something so I covered for her. It all works out cause I can now pay off my debt!!!

Anyways, so far so good except I have only made like $500 on my cash. Thats very low as I usulally pull in around $10,000. Oh well...

Good Job

My New Goal

So I've been feeling the need to start writing some songs for worship and stuff, and I have decided that I will try to write one song a week. I know that I probably won't be able to do it, but at least I want to start a couple songs, and just get a sense of where God is taking me.

Yesterday I started and kind of cheated. I took a John Mayer song "Your Body is a Wonderland", and I turned it into a little christian diddy. It's kind of cool, ask me and I'll show you the lyrics.

Pray for me, and keep me in check so I don't start slacking.

First Day Back at Skool

So today was my first day back after like a month off. This semester is the baredown semester. I kind of failed 3 course in the last one. Anyways, (I know what your all thinking.... How could such a smart guy like Jon Long fail 3 courses. Well to be honest, I am surprised as well. Oh well, more studying is needed.)

So I'm waiting for like my next class to start, and the fun stuff guy for the school counsel gets up and says that they will blast out the same Celine Dion song over and over, until they sell out of hot dogs. All the proceeds would go to the Tsnami people. Anyways after about 20 times of me hearing this same song over and over and over and over...etc... I went to buy a hot dog. When I got there I said this, (no joke..exact words) "so how much cash is it gonna cost me for you guys to turn this crap off". Well they told me whatever you got on ya. "Luckily being the poor student that I am, I only had like 5 bucks on me. SO I pulled it out and gave it to them and ate the hot dog. Whithin 2 minutes of me returning, all my friends had done the same and the music did indeed stop. For the record, my hatered of Celine Dion has exponetialy grown!!!!

ANyways, all in all a good day.

ZEO Party

Yesterday was the Zeo party and I think it was a success. We got about the number of people that we expected and we sold a bunch more tickets with burgers and the joisting blow up toy. I thought the highlight of the evening was the DJ's... J Puddy, Marcus Tandy, and Shagz were all amazing. Also a big thanks goes out to Pudd, Mel, Maija, Bethany, Mark, Beck, and Ben for lending a big hand and making the evening a success.
