AT HOME DENTISTRY

So yesterday i chipped a tooth on popcorn, and there was a sharpe edge that was cutting my teeth... I then was telling this tale to those around me and found that Jon Boerger had a similar experience with his mother, and that he filed her tooth down with a nail file. I thought it was a grand idea, so I to dulled the sharp edge, and now my tooth is fixed!!!

Yes today is the first day that all of us are in our new home. We the three stodges (Andrew, Jordan and I) all live in the bloor west village!!! It is very fun and very exciting and a great new step for me!!!

Also today I bought a tricked out MAC BOOK PRO!!! yes that's right 2.33 ghz proccessor, 2 gb of ram and yes 120 gb of memory!!! Oh ya!!!!

Vacation

Hey Y'all... So it is day 6 of my vacation (with Andrew, Jordan, and Jacob) and so far it has been amazing!!! I have seen parts of Canada that I have never seen before. I have done things I would never have dreamed doing. We started the trip off by driving from Toronto to St. Stephen, which is all in all a 12 hour drive. We spent the night and then early the next morning we drove 7 hours to Cape Split. We then hiked 2 and a bit hours with 40 plus lb packs to our camp site right on the edge of the Bay of Fundy. We spent the next two and a bit days camping and cooking and walking and sleeping. We then walked the 2 miles back and drove the 7 hour back, to St. Stephen where we are currently staying and enjoying ourselves. Today we went cliff jumping where I actually jumped off of a 20 foot cliff!!! We went to Walmart in Maine, and then went to St. Andrew for Dinner. Tomorrow we are off to Montreal where we got an amazing deal on a 4 star hotel room, so we should have a good day and a bit exploring the streets of Montreal. More to come later...

Confusion

Ok so my last post has seemed to get a few people a little peaved... When I meant that blogs were coming to an end I didn't mean all blogs, I was simply referencing the fact that the circle of friends that has previously and currently blogs, has slowed down. I will forever blog out of spite and coolness, and I agree with Pudd that myspace will die soon, but I think I should make another point.

Whay don't we all just hang out??? I mean we can write long posts about our days and have 100 friends on myspace, but isn't it better to talk to people face to face and see how there day was in person???

Now I think it is cool that I have friends in countries all over the world that I can keep in touch with, and that is cool, but for those in TO. Let talk, lets hang out, lets start a new trend where we actually talk to people...

So as of late I have noticed a severe decline in blogging activity. People seem to post less, comment less, and the posts have been less involved. I attribute this to the fact that Blogging is on its way out. For the past couple years it has been fun and even cool to degree, however I think it will soon end. I myself have been sucked into the "Myspace" world. I still plan to ride this blog thing into the ground... It is my goal to keep blogging until the site closes down or I get bored. Which ever comes first...

Dashboard Concert!!!

Just got back from the Dashboard / City in Color concert, and all I can say that it is a night of firsts.

1) 1st big concert ever
2) 1st time smelling weed and knowing it
3) 1st time take boot leg footage of a live event4) 1st time seeing a drunken brawl (right in front of me)
5) 1st time being hit on by a drunken girl on the street car
6) 1st time going the wrong way on the subway (ie I went east when I should have gone west)

So it was cool and I had great fun.

We had a great time and it went really well. I was not nervous at all once I got up there, but before I was craping my pants. People loved it and freaked out when Anthony McLean pulled out a rap during the song "Away". It was awesome. The Ynet Band is awesome and we all kicked butt!!!!

13 Hours, 6 DVD's, 1 Purpose

So Yesterday was a very draining day. We set out at 10 am to watch all three LORD OF THE RINGS Extended Addition movies in a row... I know what your thinking... That's crazy??? Don't you have a job??? Why???

Well we did it and it was long and hard but we stuck it out and did it. At 11:00pm after watching all day we were finished...

I am happy to say that I did it. I feel like I accomplished some great feet while in actual fact it was just sitting on my butt all day long and watching movies, but try it cause it is totally worth it!!!

AFRICA WRAP UP

So (ya steve I know start most of my blogs like that) I am in the Airport in Jo'burg South Africa and I have a ridiculos 10 hour wait for my plane to London where i have a 12 hour lay over for Toronto where I will hopefully get back Sunday PM!!!

Anyways Malawi was awesome, and I will have pictures on my flicker real soon...

Day 1) Landed in SA and drove to Pretoria where we spent the night in this cool little bed and breakfast. Had a meal and slept. Woke up had a meal and got to the airport where we had to take 2 little planes to Liliongwe Malawi.

Day 2) Got to Liliongwe and got picked up and driven to this really cool lodge where we had our own little place complete with servants!!! Ate dinner and slept

Day 3-7) Got up went to the ILSOM and came home and slept. Nothing to say other than WOW!!! We first walked in and people had some much opression and sadness and by Fri PM they all had huge smiles and were filling each with the good ole HS (Holy Spirt)

Day 8-9) FLYING WAITING FLYING WAITING FLYING WAITING...

Other Areas of interest:

FOOD: Every meal of every day was;

Chicken, or Fish (Chombo... I found out that chomba means weed so I had a few people giving me dirty looks when I ask for what I thought was fish) with rice, ensima, and what looked like collared greens. It was good, but man to I need a Fish Panang.

Shopping:

Went to a market and had a great time. I got a sweet chiefs chair and some Guggi not Gucci watched for like $1. It was amazing. Had a weird smell though, but hey it's Africa.

I am running out of battery on my computer so I will see in a day or so.

Malawi here I come

So it's just about Thursday and it is my last night in my own bed before I go off to Africa!!! It seems that my dreams of being traveling the world have come to be. I am going to Malawi with my Dad and Duncan for an ILSOM. It will be fun and exciting. I am most excited to see Malawi casue that is where my grandparents were missionaries for 20 some odd years.

I still need to pack, and get so much more work done, but hey God is cool, and he will help me through. In other big news we have just confirmend that we The YouthNet Band (aka Andrew Gazaneo and the Gazastrippers)will be playing at the Air CAnada Centre for the world day of prayer!!! It is gonna be so ool and a real blessing and honor for us!!! GOD IS AMAZING

The day my computer crashed...

So you may have noticed a lack of posting(Noel don't even talk, your so lazy with the posts that I had to do your last one for you), well it is becase I lost my whole harddrive on my computer... Ya it is true. I was going to re-format my hardrive and store my files on the church network, but instead of saving my files on the network, gay windows saved the shortcut to my files so ya I lost everything.

The most noticable loss is all my music. I had like 5 gigs of music that I had bought online and now I lost it.

Oh well life goes on especailly now that I am getting ready for my trip to AFRICA!!!

In two weeks I am going to Malawi!!!

LOVE IT!!!!

The day that cost me lots of $$$

So on Saturday, I went downtown with Jacob, Linda and Laura and looked for some cool t-shirts that I could where at Freshwind. It was a slow start and there was very few things that I liked until I found a shirt that said, "Slip Jesus some Skin". I tried the one and only shirt of that kind and it was just.... to small. Like if I went fasted for like a day it would fit. I need my strength so I passed on that, but soon found hope in a store call Billabong where I found two amazing shirts!!! I also found a store call Zara, which I guess is pretty well known in the frequent shoppers circle, but it was new to me. I found a cool Jack Johnson kind of shirt and to top it all, one of the salesmen was (batting for the other team...wink wink) and he loved it so I think I am ok...

Anyways all in all, shopping is expensive I won't disclose the amount spent but man it costs $$ to look good.

Also a little message to guys out there... Did you know it costs girls like over $100 just to get there hair cut? That is nuts, I pay like $15. I have a new found respect for women as it costs them a lot more to be stylish.

Crazy Weekend

So this weekend was nuts. It starts off by us being at TACF at 8:00am to set up and play for the Father Loves You Conference. We then played three times that day and finally left at around 11:00pm. IT was crazy. We did pretty good though and had tons of fun... I have heard from several sources that we were the favored of the bands at the conference!!! Big ups to JESUS!!! ANyways on Sunday there was central and Linda did here sex from girls perspective talk and said some pretty crazy stuff...

There was some other ones but I forget. ANyways, today I took the day off!!! First one in a while and I did nothing... So now we have our final practice and then FW!!!!

Burnout city here I come...

Have you ever known something was going to happen and you still let it happen? Or had an end goal in mind and did whatever you needed to do to get to the goal? Well seems like in the next month I have about a million things to do. I don't have enough time for it to be done, but I still try and try I do.

I have got to the point where I am going at 110 down the road, and don't have time to stop and see that my tires are running flat. So it is weird because I know that I will burn out soon, but it don't matter. I figure that in May I have a 8 hour flight to England, and 12 hour flight to South Africa and then a 5 hour ghetto flight to Malawi to sleep on so there is no worries.

I am really excited to see all the cool things that are gonna happen in the next month...

1) Get to organize my first Soaking School
2)Check out a Hillsong Conference and maybe use my pull to get back stage...
3) Freshwind!!!
4)Israel and new Breed concert
5) GO TO AFRICA!!!!

So my life is really exciting and really busy, but hey that is what my youth is for. Besides, my beard will help me through the whole thing.

It's all over...

So I am sitting here by the pool in Miami having just finished one of the longest weeks of my life. I know you are all going to say shut up about you cruise already, but this is my blog and I want to reflect on it.

Over all the whole week was amazing and full of great great fun, some excting memories and lots of hard work. I will start with the work side so the fun will come later. Kev and I are the bookstore and since we couldn't use credit card machines, we had to type the numbers into my computer manualy and such, so this means that every transaction that should normally take 1 min, took 2-3 and some times more. It was rough but still fun and I really love my job and some of the cool little perks that come along with it.

The fun times were every moment that I wasn't working. We did everything from snorkel in the reef's of Cozumel to swinging with stingrays, to feed 3000 Jamican's who were getting violent, to getting lost on one of the Bahamas Islands. It was great fun, and I hope that I can do it again next year. It was great!!!

A funny story on the trip was and is that each morning at like 6:00am, one of my roommates parents would call and wake there son up so they could have breakfast together. That is pretty cool if the kid would wake up with a phone call, or even a voice saying "Vince get up", This kid would not wake up... He would just sleep until either my brother and I got up and answered the phone. It sucked cause all he did each day was read and watch TV. I mean, the kid was on a cruise ship and didn't even do anything cool. Anyways, so after being awoken I would go down and set up for the service, and get ready to lead worship. I did some songs and such and it was just me and my guitar on a huge theatre type stage with like 1000 seats. The morning I lead it was packed out!!! I did "THere is no other friend" and "I could sing of your love forever". I did real good and it was awesome how everyone was worshiping along with me. It just felt so easy, and like I didn't have to dragg anyone through worship. They were all there and just wanting to praise God. Anyways, the cool part of the story is that after leading worship I had to get off the stage and walk by some big name speakers (notice I didn't name drop), and they told me that they really liked it and like my style. It was real encouraging as whenever I lead it is dragging the youth along for the ride with me and instead of us all working together and really going for it. All in all I loved it.

The cruise was fun, but I am glad to be off the boat and back to my normal 40 hour work week.

God is awesome!!!

Must be quick, the freakin crusie is charging me a fortune for the internet

So I am on the boat after a very stressful day. No joke, my job was to go to a hotel and like 200 people in groups of 10 so they could get on this bus and take them to pier.

Well I did that, I got them all in nice groups and after waiting for 1 hour and making several threaten long distance phone calls from my cell, I realized that the buses weren't coming. So we called like 40 cabs and got people moving... It would have been nice if there wasn't so many b%tchy people yelling at me...

Anyways we got on the boat, and the food is amazing!!! I haev already snuck into the night club and managed not to be carded. The cool part with that is that Robbie, Sean, Kev and several others did get carded, but the underaged guy(me) didn't!!!

Conference is busy to, me and kev ran the book store and probably sold 5000 grand worth of stuff in 3 hours. We also had to set up and clean up before and after so that kind of sucked, but hey I am on a cruise ship so who can complain.

One more thing quick as this has already cost me like $10 bucks. You guys are worth it. Tommorow I am going snorkling in Cozamel Mexico. It will be fun. I am bringing an underwater camera, so I will post pics after.

Suffering for the Gospel

Oh Father in Heaven, please help me get through this very difficult time doing your work. Give me the strength to get through all those buffet lines and Lord, I ask that you please protect my skin from sun burn....

So I probably made God real angry there but whatever, he loves it when I joke.

So I am in my hotel in Florida and it sweet. It is like 28 degrees here in the celcius and pretty sweet. I just ate like a huge basket of calamari it it only set me back 6 bucks!!! Blake, Sean, Kevin and my brother just got out of the hot tub and are laying down for some much deserved quiet before the storm...

Tommorrow will be nuts. I got to direct people to around this huge boat that I have never been on and look like I know what I am doing.

It will be fun and I will try to post about what is going on so you can keep in touch.

Sad day for Canada

So I just check the web and like 3 minutes ago, Canada lost their Hockey game against the Russians. The score was 2-0. It is a sad day for all of Canada. Even though today we won 4 medals and 2 of them gold, this stain of losing at our sport just taints the whole day. I also checked the medal standing and we are ties for 3rd in medals with the USA!!! But still we lost at hockey so the olympics was a failure.

I will now not bore you will all of my hockey insight and complaints that I have not only with the coaching staff, but with the Gambling Executive Director Mr. G. We should have won, but I believe that there were some key players left off the roster, like Spezza and Staal. These players are like leading the league with points this year and still they don;t get a shot. Instead Kris Draper who hasn't had a good season in like 10 years gets to play.

This sucks. I still love CANADA my home and native land( did I mention that I am part native), and will always cheer when a Canadian wins a medal. I actually had a little cry when the skeleton guys got their medals. It was awesome.

Anways yah for Canada, boooooooo for Russia even though they won.

At least we still have a shot at Curling...

Life's Questions

So the other week I was downtown with Jacob and as we were walking we saw a sign on a restraunt advertising a free 2L Pepsi with any takeout order. Now before I go on, let me just say that I have never been inside this restaurant, nor will I never go in one. This is just merely one of those weird thoughts that you get.

They establishment in question was Hooters. Now I know what your thinking, take out food at hooters? What up with that. When I saw this sign I had two thoughts.

1) The kind of person who would go to hooters for a meal is probably the kind of person who doesn't go there for the food if you know what I mean. They probably go there for the waitresses.

2) The second thought I had was what kind of food would a person order at Hooters that it would be so good that they would want it at home?

I mean I think they are famous for chicken wings or beer or something. So if you want chicken wings there are many other places that have better chicken wings and also deliver, and if you want beer then just go to the beer store...

This puzzled me as a restaraunt that is famous for something other than food, suddenly starts to deliver, then what is our worlds food standards coming to.

I mean it is all well in good to pick up a Big Mac or a Wendy's burger on your way home from work, but if you are going to go through the trouble of ordering food and probably forking out $20-30 bucks, you probably could find better tasting food then from Hooters...

Anyways, let me know what you all think... I found this very weird...

One Week To GO...

So it is that time again and I am getting really excited. You may think, what could Jon be talking about? Could it be that Jon bought another guitar? Could it be that I wrote a new song... Well no... Actually there is one week to go before I head on the CRUISE!!!!! I love the boat... I love to just chill in the hot sun and check out the white sandy beaches of Jamaica, Mexico, Cayman Islands and Bahamas!!!!

It is going to be fun!!! I love it as each year, or shall I say for that last two years I have really enjoyed it. I mean I got to get some perks for being a PK(Andrew and Jake this reference is not what you think).

Anyways I know you will all miss me and your lives will really seem empty without me, so I will make sure to update my blog as much as possible.

New Toys

So I was a little Ebay happy and on Friday I bought some new effect pedals.

A Boss DD-6 delay pedal, and a Boss Super Chorus!!! I will get them soon. It will be great I love effects.

So I just wanted to fill you in cause now I will be able to do some pretty cool things with both my electric and acoustic!!! It is pretty sweet.

Fun Times with no time to spare

So there has been some recent developments in my that you all should know about. I have a girl friend!!!! No actually I don't but I am still praying. I actually just got me a full time job so I am now even busier then I previously was. I still work for Duncan, but I also work Catch the Fire Ministries organizing all their product for all the schools!!!! I love product!!! I also will be doing the admin for soaking schools in Toronto so that will be fun as well.

So I can't pick my arm up past my shoulder

So some of us went to Blue Mountain yesterday for a day of fun in the sun and the snow. The plan was to strap on the skies and snowboards and go nuts. Well, as you may have guess by the title... I kind of crashed. I don't know how, or why but crashed and in the process I wrecked my shoulder. It hurt, but not enough to keep me off those slopes. (Bonus tough guy points for me) So anyways after we were finished I realized that most movements of my arm would cause a stabbing pain in my shoulder... This was fun because I had to get my ski boots off with one hand!!! Anyways, long story short it hurt and it still does.

I went to the chiropractor and he said this;

"Well Jon, it looks like you have sprained your shoulder, severely aggravated your AC muscle." "I don't know how you didn't dis-located your shoulder, but you didn't!!"

Anyways so he put some electrical current through my shoulder and then used some kind of laser.... IT HURT!!!!

But I have more movement back in my arm now and it only hurts a little.

Lesson of the day... When Skiing, don't fall!!!

I Love to Worship God!!!

Now before you read any further be aware that I have really found out what I love to do....

WORSHIP... I have always loved worshiping God, and using my musical giftings to show God how much I love him. This weekend was very long for me and very tiring. So Friday night I played with the youth band and just got to hang back and play and worship and not worry about leading a band and such... It was just fun. Then Saturday we had a band practice and I was sharing some of my songs, and half way through one of them I switched from sharing a song to worshiping with it. It was kinda of weird, and yet I loved it!!!! Sunday AM was TACF Airport and PM was TACF Central. I had a great time in the morning but was a little tired. I got to central and I felt real grumpy and such, but it was weird as soon as we started worshiping I just got carried away... It was great!!!

I don't really know what the point of this post is, but I think what I am trying to say is that I love GOD!!! For me at least, I just want to spend more time with God and worshiping him. It doesn't have to be just song as well. I love to just pray and sit and soak and let him minister to me while I praise him... It is just fun for me... So try it out. It will make bad times good and good times even better.

My New Phone

So the other day I was at school looking at all the different tables and such of cheap stuff. I talked to a guy about cell phones, and needless to say after reading the title, I got a new phone. It is pretty cool. It is a beepy phone which means I save money on work related phone calls!!!

The Ringer

So the other day I was at the movies with Jacob, Mark, and Bethany and we saw the movie "The Ringer". Just in case you are not aware of this movie, the premise is that Johnny Knoxville is pretending to be mentally challenged so he can bet and win a crap loads of money on the special olympics.

I had one problem with the movie and that was my responder. I wanted to laugh the whole time, but felt that I couldn't due to the fact that I would be laughing at people who are mentally challenged being themselves. There were moments however that were made as to be funny so I laughed so loud to make up for the parts that I couldn't laugh at.

The movie as a whole was hilarious and I really enjoyed. My favorite line in the whole movie "did you know Christ was a Jew?"

It came out of knowwhere and I laughed so freaking loud... Some of us have used the line in everyday life and I think it is even funnier after the fact.

Anyways if you haven't seen it, then see it. Also the new cool greeting that we will all use is shown to us by the character Glen. See it, use it, and have fun.

All I got for Christmas was my two front teeth

So Chistmas is over and I got my Recording gear!!!

It's friggin sweet!!! Anyways I am quite happy that it is a new year... THere is so much for me to look back upon and so much for me to look towards!!!

PaRtY!!!

So I am done school!!! After smoking through 6 exams (if you could call them exams, and I didn't really smoke, I just found them quite easy) I am finished. It comes just at the right time as I am sick of school, but alas it is over. What's next for me? I don't really know... I am trying to figure out what a smart, young and very attractive guy like myself can do. I know what your thinking, but no picking up hot chicks doesn't pay the bills. AS for a job, who knows what I will do, but one thing for sure is that I am going to focus on music. For christmas I am going to buy myseld some gear to start recording with. I will try to get some kind of a demo out soon so I can start rasing money for some actual studio time.

Other than that it is all up to God. I will fill you all in when I get some revalation from the big man up stairs. So anyways I AM DONE!!!!!!

One down, 5 to go

So I have finsished my first exam and I rocked it. It was very easy and it was even open book... I love it. Now I am studying for what will be the hardest exam I will have to do. Business Finance. The good thing is it is mainely on budgets, and it just so happens that TACF had recently gone through it, so I have a little personal experinence to help me out.

As I sit here and type trying to give my brain a rest from constant strain, I am looking out into the cold winter air. Man it's cold!!! I hate the cold. I know some people like to ski and build snowmen, and such, but to me it just means me gettting cold... Did I mention how much I hate the cold. I think I will move to a warm country some day. Does anyone know if they need worship leaders in St Maarten?

Anyways, so as of this thursday by 9:00am I will have finished my last exam and then I will be done all of my schooling!!!!!!!!!!

Then it is christmas and I just want to mention that I finished all of my shopping on Saturday. From the numerous secret santa's to my family and some friends, I got it all done, and did pretty good on the $$$. I got some great deals and didn;t get into debt over it!!!!

I am Now Officially A Rock Star

So this weekend several of us guys (Jacob, Andrew, Billy, and myself) went to the Music Expo downtown. It was AMAZING!!!! My mouth was open for the whole time. Just seeing all those guitars and amps and pedals and such... AMAZING!!!! Oh ya, and sat in on a Garage Band demo for MAC computers and if you guys thought I wanted a mac before... OH MY GOSH!!! I NEEEEEEEED A MAC!!!!!!

So afterwards I was all ready to step into my rockstar destiny so I bought another pedal. If you look at the pictures, these are all the effects that I have and will ever need.... Well until I get really prostar.

I am now set, and after I get my amp for Christmas I will be golden....

lost the big city

So this weekend us TACF Central Peeps along with an outreach team from SOM went to the streets. On the Friday night we went to Gill and Kev's for some prophetic prez, and stuff. WE had some good times. The next morning is where all the trouble started... Everyone else was up at the crack of dawn to feed some guys at a mens shelter some Eggs and and Bacon. I however slept in, and headed down at about 9:00am. I missed the bus by my house by about a minute so I had to wait 30 min for the next one to come. I then was a little tired so I missed my stop. I eventually got down to Younge and Wellsley at about 10:30. I then called Andrew to find out where everyone was. He said U of T so I started to walk. I got down to College and instead of going west, I went east. I walked past Maple Leaf Gardens, I went all the way to the Allan Gardens!!!! I called Andrew again and figured out that I was lost. So I headed west... Got back to Younge and went towards University. I then saw what I thought was U of T, so I wondered around for a little bit. I then asked a very nice hot dog guy and he told me to keep going west. I finally found everyone and we got to praying. We then went to the Eaton centre and did some P and E (prophetic evangalsim). It was a fun day, but I leared a lesson. Toronto is huge so make sure you know where your going. Where better shoes when you walk around all day.

So this Sunday was a marathon of a day for the TACF Central crew... We arrived Sunday at 9:00am for set up at TACF Airport for worship that morning. We had a pretty decent set I thought. People were really worshiping so that is all that matters. I then had to go to the meet the pastors luncheon, and then I drove down to the YMCA for set up at 4:00. By the time that the night had concluded I was wiped! I got home and laid on the couch, and that was it. A long day, but a fun day none the less.

One of the crazy things is that during the second sond in the morning, I broke one of my guitar strings. The weird thing besides the fact that I never break strings, is that I broke the A string. FYI, no-one in the history of guitar has ever broken an A string. Well maybe my sources are flawed, but man is it a tough one to make. What is bad about breaking the A string is that for pretty much every chord shape that I know, I need to use the A string so I was pretty much done with that guitar. I then grabed Jordan's second electric and played it clean into the system. It didn't sound the best, but I was better than nothing.

Over all I had a great day, and I would do it again in a second!!!

Back the day

Yesterday really brought me back to my childhood. It was great. Well just as some background info for you, and so I can brag a little. From the age of 5 to 18 I was a very good baseball player. I was one of the top players in Ontario, and even got an invite to play for a team that traveled the states to play. With that, every year i would have one day where I couldn't move. This would be a day around this time of year where we would start practicing in a school gym. After a practice my bones would be very very sore. I would have to miss a day of school usually because I couldn't get out of bed.

Well.... Today I feel like that. Last night my Dad and I played squash again, and yes he still beat me, but at least I won a set and at least the games were a lot closer. Well I am sitting here in class at an ungodly time in the morning and I am wishing that was in bed. Not because I am tired, but because I can't really stand up. MY BODY HURTS!!!!

I've been given a drubbing!

This is a sad post for me as I have to confess something... As most of you may or may not know my family (especially the men) are very competitive. We like to win, and if we can't win then we need to win bigger next time.

Well to make a very long story very short as I have been increasing in age I have been increasing in talent in the sports field. By the age of 12 I could beat my Dad in baseball, by 15 I could beat him in Tennis and by 18 I could beat him in golf.

I am now 20 and last week I played for the first time ever the game of squash. My Dad (who played on his school team) and I played and we had a tough game but it turned out that he won. It was tough to swallow but it was a close game. It wasn't until later that I found out my friends (who's status there as is questionable) Bethany and Noel had been praying against my victory... I was a little upset that my friends would do that to me but I guess our prank war is still on...

So anyways today I played again, thinking today would be different as I now grasp the full concept of the game. So I walk in and quickly my attitude changes as my Dad wins the first set 15-0. I started the second set right away trying ware the old man down, but it didn't work as he beat me 15-1. I then saw that he was quite tired so we started the third game and I started off well with a 3-0 lead, but it soon fell and the final score was 15-3 for my Dad.

So I pretty much got my butt kicked by my Dad. He has found the one sport that he still holds victory over me!!! Been the gracious son that I am I will give it to him for now but just wait as the victory post will soon come!!!

I have made it over the block

So for those of you who don't play music you might not under stand this post, but you should read it through as you may learn something.

For the past 8 months I have been at a point in my guitar playing that I couldn't really improve by myself. As you may or may not know, I am self taught. Late in the summer I started to get some electric guitar lessons with Sven. He showed me some really cool stuff and allowed me improve.

A few months later being now... I have recently figured out with some degree of understanding how notes in scales work. I have always known that In the key of G what noted I could play, but I never really understood it well enough to transpose in my head to different keys. Well friends I am happy to let you know that I have figured out this whole numbering system. It takes me a little bit to send it through my head but I get it now!!!!

This is really exciting for me as I have been trying for a while but it wasn't until recently that it sunk in.

I guess it takes time to learn and grow but I am glad that I now know how to do it. Who knows in a couple months time I will be able to play just by numbers!!!!

I know this post probably doesn't make sense to a bunch of you but hey, it makes sense to me and I like it!!!

Turkey Day

Welcome to the 6:00 news... (Insert cheesy music here)In today's news we have a special report from our senior field correspondent Jon Long... Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving and and a holiday....

Wow, that was kinda dumb eh... Oh well... As you may know it was indeed thanksgiving and my chef uncle brought something to my attention. We as Canadians are getting screwed! For instance, yesterday was Thanksgiving so we get the day off, while in the states it is like Memorial Day so they get the day off. In November the US gets their Thanksgiving and a day off. What do we get then? Squat!!!

How fair is that. Also Remember that day we like to call Victoria Day, ya the US calls it Martin Luther King Jr Day, and Canada day well it is called independence Day.

I just want to know why we as Canadians don't get as many days off. Not to be mean, but we sure work harder than most Americans. (If you are from the US ie. Bill, and your reading this people from Pittsburgh work harder than Canadians, but that is the only State.) I just want to know why. Do we not deserve it?

My idea is that on American Thanksgiving we all get together watch the Dallas Cowboys game and eat some Turkey. I think it is only fair, so if you want to join me, let me know and I'll hook it up....

Worst Shopping experience ever...

So over my lunch break, Andrew and I went off to this so called Levis Blowout sale in some convention center. We went expecting to leave with like 10 pairs of jeans and have a huge hole in our pockets. Well we go their and looked around at the different tables and found nothing. Every pair of jeans was ugly!!! Andrew made the comment that every pair jeans made people look fat and gay. I totally agree these jeans were terrible. Also they weren't cheap either. It was like $30 bucks for one pair of jeans. I can get better looking jeans at bluenotes or american eagle for that much...

It was a total bust, but at least I saved some money...

Bursting My Bubble

So as you may have read in my previous post, I was very excited about this great meal that I had and was very excited about going their again. Well yesterday I was talking with Linda Cho who mentioned that she will never eat their again. I was stricken with shock as Linda had been one of the biggest advertisers of this place and now she will never go back... What is going wrong in this world? So I then asked her why and she gave me this whole schpeal about how bad eating that much meat is for you and how the food isn't really Korean it is just some Chinese knock off...

Needless to say this was a traumatic experience for me as I was ready to move next door to this restaurant so I could eat their every day... Well, all I have to say is that my bubble is now burst. I still want to go but it just doesn't seem to be that good anymore. I don't blame Linda at all because she was just stating her opinion and was in no way trying to push them on to me, but I just find it a little upsetting that one of my foody friends has been swayed by the healthy side...

Pray for me... Or better yet pray that I will find a new restaurant that will fill the gap that is left in my heart....

BEST MEAL EVER!!!!

WOW, I'll even say it backwards WOW!!! Yesterday night a few of us (Andrew, Linda, Mel and myself)went out for the most amazing food on earth... I can not let you know where it is as it is a secret and must be bribed out of me by taking me this restaurant... So anyways we went to this Korean BBQ place and oh my gosh!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! Andrew found this place and I need to give him mad props (so for the ghetto language), it was soooooo gooood.

Anyways the premise of this dining experience is that it is an all you can eat deal, and they bring raw meat to you and you grill it yourself on a bbq that is at your table. When you run out of meat, you order more!!! I think I ate like 2 pounds of ribs, and maybe a combined 2 pounds of squid, salmon, chicken, thin beef, pork, and white fish... They also give you like loads of bean sprouts, kimchee, tofu, and a soup!!!

Anyways if you want to go, let me know and I will tell you where it is!!!!

My fingers hurt!!!

Ok so for those of you who don't play guitar, I have one suggestion for... Don't volunteer to play three different sets in a day. So on Sunday I showed up 9 am, well lets be honest it was more like 9:15.... I was a little late... And played for the Sunday am service!!! I then was supposed to play at the 1:30, and then I was set to play downtown at 6:00... Well needless to say my fingers were hurting like fat guy after running a marathon!!!

It is funny though because like a year ago I was itching to being able to play, and now it seems like I always play!!! It is really fun, yet hard on my fingers... I think I will do some push ups on my finger tips, to strengthen them!!!

My life is kind of funny, as I am a full time student, almost a full time worker and I do a crap load of other activities in between those. I got to a point today where I was so tired that I just wanted to cry. However this seems weird to me as when I am not doing anything, and trying to rest I feel so bored and unhappy. I think in a strange way, I love to do things, yet I know it kills me, and still do it cause to not do anything makes me want to do more things. It is kind of like the circle of life, except for me not eating other humans. I guess I need to cut back on things like going out, and get more of some things like sleep, however I am still very young and have my whole life ahead of me to relax so I mind as well go nuts while I still can. I think I might be crazy, or a genious, either one will do...

Getting your groove on can be very freeing

So last weekend I was at Lee and Sarah Houghton (pronouced Horton)'s wedding. It was a really cool wedding and I had a great time. During the reception, I was all like dancing sucks, I don't dance... But soon I decided to try it out and see how I faired. By the end of it I was having a great time and really enjoyed myself. I think I will go dancing more often...

In other news... Today was my first day of school and it is awesome... I am taking a course on Leadership... Man I've been teaching leadership for like the last two years...

Camp the Final Frontier

So here I am at a library in Stayner on one of my mornings off. Camp has been so amazing so far with lots of youth's lives being changed. The cool part for me is that I get to lead worship along with like the greatest band ever!!! Grant on drums, Jacob Murphy on the bass, Jordan on the Electric and Suzy BGV!!!! Oh my gosh!!! Worship has been incredible and to my surprise (or a lot of practice) my voise is sounding really good!!! I am able to hit notes that I previously could not and my guitar work has really improved to. GOD IS AMAZING!!!!

So camp is going really well, and its only day 3!!! 4 more to go... Then I am off to like 3 parties and a wedding!!!

Oh ya I just turned 20 like yesterday!!!! No more teens... Go by teens, you have served me well!

Houston we have lift off

Well not really a lift off or anything to do with Houston, but it is scary all the same... This weekend I will need to pick my courses for my final semester in College. Isn't it scary? I mean I am almost 20 and I will have finish college... WOW... It hit me that as of December I will be free to do as I please and not be worries about school and such... I will be free use the triple period and fear no bad grades from teachers who can't speak English!!! It is amazing!!! What surprises me more is that I've always know what I wanted to do with my life, but in the last couple of months God has flipped me around and pushed me away from where I always thought I would be. I always thought that I would be a business guy, but I think I am pushing more towards ministry and stuff. It is scary and yet really cool!!!

Also I am almost 20 years old!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK... Goodbye to my teens and hello to real world... Pray for me as I have never turned 20 before and don't know how I will handle it.

Life is good and I can;t wait to see what God has in store for me next...

War of the Worlds...

WARNING!!! IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN THE MOVIE AND DON"T WANT TO HAVE IT RUINED DON"T READ...

So yesterday night Gaz and I went to see War of the Worlds. We had both heard from several sources that this was a great movie, and on the whole I would have to agree. I was on the edge of my seat for the whole movie, and when I got out I was literally shaking. My heart didn't stop thumping for like 3 hours after the movie. The whole movie was full of great acting by Tom Cruise and Dakota something, and the movie seemed very realistic.

My only quip with the movie was the ending... I am the movie was great and warranted a fabulous ending that made you want to see a sequel, but instead the movie came to an end in like 5 minutes. In the end the aliens who have walked all over everyone and have killed like 1 billion people, and in the end they were all killed by some kind of bacteria in the air... How dumb is that? I mean the movie could have gone on for at least another half hour and then had a more plausible ending...

If you have seen this movie let me know what you think about it...

Camping Trip

So I just got back from a weekend of roughing it in the great outdoors. I had the greatest of fun with my fellow young adult people and had some great times pissing off some park rangers. Steve Hollema my new hero jumped off a 40 foot cliff into some water and lived!!!

On my return to T.O. we went to the TACF Downtown church and it was really cool. Although we had a slight technical problem it all worked out the evening was a huge success!!!!

All I can say is that both camping and God rock!!!

Flight FROM HELL... Or not

So we left our house at like 6:00 am England time and we get on the flight finally at like 12:00. Then 6 hours into the flight they said we are having some like engine malfunction and we are going to have to land in Halifax... We then waited on the tarmac in the plane for an hour, and then our pilot who had a great grasp of the English language... NOT... And said we need to disembark. We then waited in line for 15 dollar food vouchers and then waited in the aiport until our flight at 9:45 Halifax time. We are now waiting and will get back at around Midnight toronto time meaning that we have been up for 24 straight hours...

As you can figure we are very tired and stressed and can't wait to jump in our own beds.

More from England

Well we are now in our final destination of Burgess Hills. It is like an hour south of London. We just left Seaford and are glad to get out as their was some extreme weirdness that I will fill you in on later. We are at this cool baptist church, and it brings me back my old days as a kid. Once again I am blessed with a house with wireless internet!!! So I can still blog and such.

On this trip we have experienced some really good food. We have had fish and chips, and more recently we had a Thai all you can eat Dim Sum style restaraunt and even more recently Indian food!!!!! SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD... The only down side is when the food came out later that day... (oh the burning)

Other than that we are having a great time and still taking lots of pictures. Check em out.

England Update

So since you have last heard We've been to Bath, Exeter and now Seaford. Exeter was awesome and once again I came up gold with a cool house. Andrew, James and I staid at a house with cable internet that we could plug our laptops into!!! And again in Seaford James and I get a house with wirless internet and satilite tv! Not that we have any time to watch, but at least it's their.

In other news we just finished a youth conference which was so good and yet a little dispointed. We were told to expect 200-300 people their and we only got like 15... NO mater though as GOd moves the same and those 15 people really got touched. We did worship in the afternoon and to change it up we had everyone come and be amoungst as we worship. It was awesome spiritualy all though it didn't sound to good.

We are having a great time and have many cool and funny stories, which I will sell for 19.99 plus tax. Or if your nice I might fill you in for free.

We have like two camera's and a handy cam so we will have a killer DVD and slide show for you when we get back. Thanks to good old apple mac computers!!!!!!

Update from Across the Pond

So here I am in like the biggest house I have ever seen, writing to you all at like 11:30 at night using some weird wirless signal I hacked into. Well I am here in England and am loving it!!! I've had my fish and chips and my clotted cream, and such and am very pleased. We just left Branstaple where we stayed and did a conference at Nicola's parents church. It was awesome and God really came. The best meeting was out last and we went to this church in the middle of no where. We drove through very tiny roads that were surrounded by bushes. We totally scraped the sides, but it was a fun ride. We did firetunnels and such and Mel gave an awesome preach.

It is really funny that my skills follow me as I have done the sound desk (PA desk as the british call it) at like every service. They had a guy for the first service but he was crap so the next day I re-worked it all and it sounded so much better. The guy was happy and was like "wow i didn't know how to use those nobs." Oh well God bless him, now he knows. Anyways I have also used my bookstore skills to sell some CD's, and used my directional skills to guide to and fro.

We are now in Bath and loving it. Me and James got this great house that is like a mansion. We had like a gormet pizza with brie and goats cheese and roasted peppers and such.... SO GOOOOOOOD!!!! I am now sitting in my own room that is bigger than my room at home and sleeping in my huge bed. I think tommorow I will use my personal shower and bathroom. GOD ROCKS!!!

Well, I think I'll call it quits for now but as soon as I get more stories I will share.

I'm off

Well is 3:00 now and I leave at 10:00 tonight. Off to England, my home and not so native land. Where the chocolate flows like water and the rain falls like rain. England, how I can't wait to see you. How I long for fish and chips that are actually good.

CRAZY FUN WEEKEND

So this weekend I went with Duncan and Kate, Andrew, Laura, and Robyn to the great city of Detroit. We went to Pete Dresser's church and did some worship and Duncan spoke. It was so fun and really easy. The people their love to worship and just praise God. It was so refreshing. On the way up we had some really good music listening and it prompted me to buy the new Coldplay and Killers CD's. I love them.....

Wendy's is Good

So if you have ever been anywhere near the bookstore around conference time you know that the whole department goes and gets dinner at Wendy;s. This conference was no different... So we went and got our food and were given the task to get John Pedlar (A/V Guy) a burger. We got him a Jr. Cheeseburger. We them took it out of the wrapper, and filled it with French fries. We then re-wrapped the burger back up and brought it to John. We them explained to him that this is the new special deal they have. We must have been convincing as he totally believed us. It was quite humorous!!! We all laughed for like 10 minutes, and he still didn't suspect a thing. I can just see John going to the Wendy's counter and asking for the burger with the fries in it.

Television is the Devil

So these past couple of days has been very very very un-cool. There has been four season finale's, and they are all cliff hangers.

First there was 24. That show ended nicely, but the hero has to hide out for the rest of his life. That kinda sucks.

Next there was Navy NCIS. It was a great show, but why did the girl have to die. I knew someone would die, but not the girl. I mean Kate and Tony should have totally hooked up.

Then there was Lost. All I can say is why? It was nice that they had a summary episode on to help fill in the gaps, but this show is just nuts. WHY?

Finally, there was the beloved Alias. It ended nicely and then when Vaughn was just about to explain who he really is, they get hit by a car. How much stuff can one girl go through?

So all in all I am very disapointed as I will be waiting until next season to see what happens. I just hope they don't change the channels on me so I am not able to actually watch. Don't you hate that....

So yesterday was the grand opening of the Apple store in Yorkdale mall. It was a great occation full of many many people and to the first 1500 people went a free t-shirt!!! So my brother and I planned to be at the store for 9:30 to ensure that we get a t-shirt. Well, we slept in and instead got there at like 1:00. So we get in line and get to the store after waiting for 30 min and we get some shirts. I was 1490 person to enter the store!!!

So I got a free t-shirt, signed up for a free computer draw and bought some speakers for my iPod.

Well today was my last day in my office. Since Nicola is leaving and needs to train her assistant, I loose my desk. So I am now sitting right beside Greg Fortier out in the main office. It is pretty cool cause now I will have like 10 offices mates instead of just one!!!

My Dad can Beat up Your Dad!!!

So for the past week or so my Dad has been in Sudan. He is helping out at some kinda of mission thing. Anyways he was supposed to get back on Friday, however he had some dreams and God was telling him to get out of there, so he will be back today. He called this morning and said that he was leaving because he had nearly been in to fights and it was getting dangerous. One time he kick a punk kid that was on drugs in the balls and then threw him to the ground. Apparently lots of kids were laughing at the punk kid so my Dad's mission was complete. So as I can proudly say, "my Dad can beat up your Dad!!!"

So as the temperature goes up and the sun is out for longer, we slowly move to my favorite time of year. GOLF SEASON. I think I will hit the driving range on Satuday and get the kinks out of my swing. What I'd like to do is play WoodenSticks this year, as it is one of the better courses in the T.O. area. Hopefully one of the ricj guys from TACF will want to take my Dad golfing and have an extra spot for me...

Did I mention how much I love GOLF!!! It is a great sport, and yes I did call it a sport. You can never master the game and even if you do get a really low score then, you can always get a lower one.

Tired

It is funny because I know that since school is over it is one less thing to do, and I'll have a lot more time to rest. But I just don't feel rested or even at a place where I can rest. I think I have been going non-stop for like 4 or 5 months and now that I can take a little break my body won't let me. It's weird cause I want just relax, but my mind and body are like, "why don't you do something..." I guess it will come in time as my body readjusts from my crazy work/school/ynetwork/guitar practice/10 million other things.

Red Bull

So this Monday marks my last week of college for 4 months. It is a pretty easy week as I only have 2 exams and 1 presentation so I'm pretty excited. I am now sitting in school literally exausted and am in serious need of some Red Bull. My parents get back from Cuba on Tuesday, just in time for the Show Me Your GLory Conference and then my Dad is off to the Sudan. So the next couple weeks will be pretty rough for me as many things are finishing, starting and just plan taking up my time.

In other news, straight from Cairo, Egypt. I just wrote another song, and I think it is my best one yet. I kinda took one of my first songs that was ok and re-vamped it and made it better. Check it out if you want on "my songs".

Also it seems that my brother is sick yet again. It seems that every time he spends the weekend with friends when my parents are away he misses school on the Monday. I am wise to his tricks though as I used to try the same thing. I will keep this info a secret and use it as some black male one day.... Why do they call it "black male" was it cause a black dude was the first to black male someone? Just a thought...

kamikaze Granny on Wacki Tabacki

So I was watching an old episode of CSI on DVD today called "Crash and burn". It was a pretty good episode and the best part besides the random and yet hilarious comments and one-liners made by Grisome, was when this old lady crashed her car on purpose into a restaurant. They later found out she was high, and someone on the show was like man she was a kamikaze grandma. I later pointed out to Bethany C and Beck that she was a kamikaze Granny on Wacki Tabacki. I then mentioned that if I had MSN that that would be my login name. Anyways after all of this random babbling I have come to the conclusion that CSI is an awesome show and needs to be watched.

Pranks in the Office

Well I feel I've been up to some mischief and I need to confess it to someone so you are all going to be witness to it. During my lunch hours I have tried to brighten the mood and keep myself entertained.

My first prank was to call Nicky Smith as she was at lunch and leave a message on her phone (in a very good British accent) stating that I was Franklin from the British High commission and that a Ms. Smith's visa is going to be revoked. The next day I heard from others in the office that they were trying to trace the call as it was not a 519 area code (Ottawa) number. I then left another message stating that I had been mistaken and it was another Ms. Nicky Smith that we were looking for, and that she should disregard the previous message. She would have believed it, if not for the chuckles of my office mate Nicola. None the less Nicky was fooled and it was quite the joke...

Next I decided to pick on some else foreign so I chose Robyn. She has asked me to send an email to Duncan's 12 about some bio's that need to be done. So I sent that out and immediately after told everyone but her to make a singles dating bio... Here is an example...

He is a very humble person, when asked about his physique, Ben said "No comment."

Anyways... Needless to with the help of the rest of the 12 (good job guys), we managed to all send them one after another, and as Robyn later said.... "At first I thought there was something strange, but once they all came I figured out what was going on." She and the rest of us all had a good laugh.

My last little trick was to another foreigner. (Why stop) I chose to pick on Caroline as it was her birthday hence most plausible target. Nicola received a flag. She tried to pawn it off on me, so I decided to pass it off to someone else. We (the upper office) called Caroline and told her we all pitched in and bought her a gift. Later she came up and was presented the flag.... I wasn't their to see the reaction, but I heard from Nicola that it went over quite well.

So all in all they may not seem very tricky, but for Nicola and I it was quite funny!

Well actually I won't cause that would just be stupid, but hey I had you going for a second. So ya my Dad is taking my Mom to Cuba for the week. They got given some money and it was a real cheap vacation. Anyways this leaves me with pretty much the house to myself and my brother. My goal is to have at least one party on the weekend so let me know if anyone is up for like a movie night or a good meal....

In other news I just finished writing two exams and they were a breeze. I'm so happy that I through get the summer off!!!

Greatest Sunday ever!!!

Well maybe not the greatest ever, I mean other stuff has happened on Sunday's that have been pretty cool, but this one was way up there on the greatest ever list. Last Sunday I got to be on the worship team on the big stage!!! Not only that but I got to try out my brnd new guitar... Also I got to lead the song "Worthy you are worthy". It was pretty cool, and I had a great time... Apparently I did pretty good, cause I couldn't hear a thing. Just when I started, my ears (in ear monitor) fell out so I was playing guitar and singing without hearing how I sounded. I guess it was best cause I wasn't worried about sucking I just worshiped God. I had a great time, and can't wait to play again. If you need to get a hold of me I'll most likely be practicing so I'll be that much better next time.

Doe a deer a female deer....

So last weekend Mel, Ben K, Maija and I led an encounter weekend for some church in Owen Sound. It was kinda tiring cause the youth their are like totally not trying to enter in. They just think that if we come it will force them into wanting God.

On a more crazy and scary and some what hilarious after the fact note, we hit some deer. Yes, not just one but two. It's not deer season yet and Mel has already bagged two of em. One night around 11:30 after traveling into town for some Timmy's, we were driving along and suddenly I saw what looked like a big dog and then what looked like a bunch of ice. I soon realized that it was indeed several deer and the driver side window that had just be smashed. It turns out that two deer for some reason wanted to run into Maija's poor little car. There was hair everywhere!!! In the car, in Mel's coffee, stuck in the frame of the car, in the rims etc. Man, it was scary and yet funny and luckily no one was hurt.

Good times though as Ben and I couldn't help saying... "We smoked a deer" over and over again!!!

On the plus side, I found some Pun's about deer...

"Oh Deer... We just killed two deer."
"Deer diary, today we hit some deer."

Well you can guess about some other ones, like how Bambi won't be going home tonight because we hit her with a car. Anyways everyone was ok, and Mel defialtly didn't swear when she the deer. (defiantly!!!)
